The Water of Life; Cleanses, Refreshes, Gives Eternal Life
To follow the Lord, God, who created us, let us begin with his plan of Salvation into eternity!
In the early moments of the creation that we inherited there was already a plan to make everything according to Hoyle.
This has become the rule of fact that our life in human terms became a pattern to follow in order to sense the very essence of God that is at the base of human toil and harvesting for the future. What is that reaping of the seeds that plants an understanding in the heart of man that will become the fruit of an orchard not yet established?
As we read through the Old Testament our eyes are not yet focused on what he has planned to reveal through his chosen prophets who will become the very truth of his Only Son, Jesus Christ. If we wish to grasp the chronology of our beginning and future events that make us truly human without the fatal attraction of sin, we now must look to the prophets that took upon themselves, at God’s will; open yourselves to a well-planned scenario that finally reached completion when Christ, while dying on the Cross said, “It is Finished,” (Jn 19: 30).
In spite of all the many instances of how man was not ready to accept the wonderful gift of human creation and a world he graciously turned over to a selfish, self-centered species God did not withhold his plan to make human beings a group that he loved and would sacrifice himself for their redemption from their self-centeredness.
Enter the trio of chosen men whom God implanted a free will that would be in accord to a divine will of obeying the desires of their creator; Abraham, Joseph, and Moses!
God called Abram (before he extended his name to Abraham) and he saw within his obedience a man to whom all of humanity from now on would take charge of God’s divine will to bring mankind’s disobedience to an end. (Gn 12: 1 - 3).
The next man to whom God presented a needed reflection symbolizing the very Son of God would be a man who would suffer, be turned over to enemies, and even condemned for his innocence would become a savior for the world’s inhabitants at that moment in human history. This was Joseph, son of Jacob. He became a dreamer that infuriated his brothers, but through his abilities became a symbol of the Son of God, Jesus Christ.
Now that their father (Jacob) was dead, Joseph’s brothers became fearful and thought, “Suppose Joseph has been nursing a grudge against us and now plans to pay us back in full for all the wrong we did him!” (Gn 50: 15). As the story goes, Joseph is like a Savior and did not condemn what he was scourged with, but brought forgiveness to his brothers and consequently to the rest of mankind. A precursor to Jesus Christ!
With Moses, the one who was called to redeem the people of God from Egypt, his greatest sign would not be found at the parting of the Red Sea, feeding the people with Manna and later Quale, it was found when God told him to use the blood of an innocent lamb and have the people apply the blood to the lintel and doorposts to every house in which they partook of the innocent lamb. “It is the passover of the Lord.” (Ex 12: 1 - 13). This is an exact replica of the Crucifixion of Christ and the blood was the sign that the emptying of its life is exactly what occurred on Calvary.
We just fasted for 40 days, watched the Crucifixion of our Lord and Savior, and rejoiced at his Resurrection. Now, we who have been forgiven through his Passion are in awe of the three men whom God called forth to present the sacrifice and completion of the plan that began with the creation of mankind has reached our own entrance into eternal life with Jesus Christ and the Holy Trinity.
