Grandma and Grandpa
Soon, on April 23rd, we will celebrate a great warrior in the army of God. If we ever needed Holy militants, it is now. Not to just fight physically, but very much so spiritually. In fact, mostly spiritually.
St George, was in the cruel Roman leader, Diocletian's army. Yes, Diocletian was a cruel dictator who hated Christians and through the many kinds of tortures and executions, was deemed ruthless and evil. Even soldiers in his own army who refused to worship idols, were killed by his order. St George was one of these. St George refused to renounce his faith in Jesus Christ. The so-called dragon that he had slain was none other than the dragon of evil in the lack of faith. With which he claimed as a testimony, to his great faith in God.
We need St George today to help slay the dragon of war that rages on. All soldiers are valiant heroes who fight for what is right in the army of God. We, as civilians, depend on them as they fight the dragon of bondage to this world. Being in the service of a God who desires only our peace and loyalty to Him and Him alone is what a great soldier is made of. There is a great responsibility in being a soldier. And we must commend all who fight for our freedom and peace, but only in the name of Jesus Christ. St George knew who the true ruler was and he fought gallantly for Him. Let us call upon St George's protection and valor for all soldiers who fight for peace as the wars rage on. Always remember, that the wars around us aren't necessarily physical, as the spiritual war is being tended to also. St George, along with the legions of Saint Michael and the great guardian angel of America will teach us how to combat evil.
St George, pray for us!
