Wear the Miraculous Medal
There's always going to be two sides, and in many instances, "many" different sides. The pros, the cons, the opinionated, the passionate, the uncaring. Many different ways of looking at things. The key is to what is felt when one thinks of which side to choose. Do you feel unrest? Do you feel anger? Or are we going to surrender to the great feeling of Peace?
The great controversy over peace versus war, is a no-brainer. We must always choose Peace. But a lot of times, we must realize, that Peace is not easy to come by. Our God, in the past, has had to choose different ways of having Peace reign when all was lost. Now, in this great age of uncertainty, should Peace come without a fight? Joan of Arc didn't think so. She fought in the name of God, for righteousness, in a time where dominion over her people was unjustified. Many lives were lost. But the one thing that was justified, is that she was led by the direction of her God. He is also our God.
There have been cruel leaders and dictators in the past. The ones who triumphed at first, because of the fear they put into humanity. Look where they all ended up. They were defeated. We are living in a Time, where we must keep our heads. Control and strong arm must be tended to, if it be so, in the name of Jesus Christ. Unless you see that, you will always see the situation uncertain. Then the great victory will be won. Resigning ourselves to true contrition and penance will seek out Peace. Not only for the world but for our own Souls.
Can one truly say we deserve to have Peace? When it doesn't even reign in our own homes? In our own cities? In the land of the free? I think that's all Pope Leo is trying to say. He's not trying to be a dictator, but a messenger. Telling us, that Peace must be sought first in ourselves and in our neighbors. We cannot continue to ask for Peace, until we are willing to truly promote Peace between each other. Allowing God, to do His work. Just like He's always done. Look at the past. That is, start with the crucified Jesus. Because the evil one persisted in taunting humanity for control, our Lord perished in such a demeaning, cruel way. But look what happened. Death was defeated. God showed that He is the last word. So it will be in our time. We choose. In the midst of uncertainty, we must choose. Choosing the image of Jesus and all that He taught. Our prayers are not in vain. So that is why we choose Peace. The Apostles were greeted with those same words, "Peace be with you", from our Lord. It calmed them. But we are stubborn breed. The great thing though, is that God knows this. His Mercy endures forever. Thankfully. He knows our uncertain hearts. But if we listen closely, we can hear Him say the same words to us, "peace be with you".
Keep praying for Peace. Mean it with all of your heart and soul. It will surely come. Let it begin with us.
