Lucifer, the Fallen angel
The End Times? Are We Ready?
Eileen Renders
This is the big question on our minds today. The signs and indications are all there. Wars, floods, fires, violence in the Streets, corruption, inflation, and frankly, many churches are still empty. Why do we feel such fear? Is it because we are not yet “ready” to leave this world? Did we believe it would be our call when we must leave, or could we believe that our life here on earth is better than where we are destined to go? There are many unanswered questions. Many of us hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
Ah, the bigger question is this: “Why do we fear death?” Could it be that we spend little time living and serving God, therefore, we fear that we will not be invited to enter into heaven”? Are we not teaching our children to go to church and obey God’s Ten Commandments?
Let’s first address the worst-case scenario. Suppose war escalates, and spreads to more parts of the world after countries take sides, and famine and disease prevail, what then? This article is not meant to frighten anyone, but to inspire “readiness.” The point I am making is this, regardless of whether peace returns in the world or it does not. We, God’s people, have a new opportunity every waking day to acknowledge God is our Creator, to respect Him, and obey His Commandments. We need to remind our children how salvation works. God provides us the opportunity to choose between Him and eternity with Him in heaven, or to cling to the world to meet our needs, provide our happiness, and where we plan on dying and remaining, in the ground.
We do not have to accept fear and expect condemnation from God. Prayer, Sacraments, and living as God instructed will erase anxiety and replace it with peace, love, and even anticipation because we have been graced with “trust.” It all comes back to haunt those who refuse to adhere to God’s will; we will live with regret, anxiety, and panic. Let us pray, pray for acceptance and trust. Let us fully and sincerely surrender to God. He promises us our eternity will be with Him only when we love and trust in Him.
Satan and the world have nothing to offer us other than empty promises of happiness and satisfaction. Let go of fear, and I will see you in church.
