Is Heaven for Sale?
The Days are shorter and our redemption is certain; Are we ready?
The question is not a test but a reminder that each day in or out of Lent should be a preparation for our own resurrection. How is it that yesterday we felt accepted for some goodness that we expended, then today we seemed to slip and trip from our sins?
Welcome to the realism of evil that waits for that weakness to befall our humanity and suddenly without a warning there we are again struggling with sin that is common to most people who seek the presence of Christ’s blood to find his mercy.
If it wasn’t for the understanding that Jesus experienced in the wilderness and the devil took advantage to test him, we wouldn’t have an excuse to reason with the entity of sin that confronts each one of us. He knows what the devil will use to enhance our weakness in order to make us feel unworthy and then to accuse our failure as a final rejection from guilt. The presence of sin, our weakness to know what has confronted us, and the sign of the Cross to say; “come to me and do not be afraid” “for I am with you until the end of the age.” (Mt 28:20).
Jesus said to his disciples; “Go and learn the meaning of the words, I desire mercy, not sacrifice, I did not come to call the righteous but sinners.” (Mt 9: 13).
That statement applies to 99.99% of the remnant of humanity. Be strong, therefore, since our destiny is in the hands of our Savior who died for sinners and not saints.
