It's hot!
Before we get started, read my previous article, here; Be careful about calling someone bald head, and, make sure you, you check out this Part I, here.
And remember, I wrote another book; Elisabeth and the other man (paperback), Elisabeth and the other man (ebook)
And, check out my latest on Locals, as this article goes live in between Good Friday and Easter Sunday, so, you have the Saturday in between when Jesus is taking his Sabbath. The Good News of Good Friday
“And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly thou shalt go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put emnity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Unto the woman, he said, I will greasily multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. And unto Adam, he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shalt it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy fact shalt thou eat bread, till thou return to the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living. Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God makes coats of skin, and clothed them. And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know God and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and life for ever: Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubim, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.” (Genesis 3:12-24).
So, a couple of things, first and foremost, flaming swords sound awesome! Also, dangerous. If you've ever played Rayman Legends, you'd know how hard it can be to get passed those.
But, one thing I want to touch on is this, last week, I did an episode on Locals about the The Ugly side of capitalism
If you know the days of creation, God gave us a day to rest, even before the fall. (Genesis 2:3).
But the pain and physical stress is a result of the fall.
I really want to focus on verse 19: “ In the sweat of thy fact shalt thou eat bread, till thou return to the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return”
Although the Sabbath was sanctified before the fall, it's almost like an all knowing God knew that it was coming!
But, I also want to talk about Genesis 3:16.
“Unto the woman, he said, I will greasily multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children”
As someone who has no children and has never been married, I can't help but think of Jesus talking about this very thing in John 16:21
And right now, the whole earth is in labour pains. Awaiting the Resurrection of the Saviour.
Jesus, being a faithful Jew, is rest on his Sabbath, and when he comes back on Easter Sunday, he will make all things news.
