Did God plan our personality traits? Are they inherited? Why are we as we are?
This is a topic I would rather not talk about, let alone think about; however, it’s the times we are living in, Morals and values are not the priority of our millennials. Their priorities are not of marriage and children, and family values are exactly what Our Lady spoke of regarding the Lord’s battle with Satan. The weather is also behaving erratically with heat waves, floods, fires, and even landslides. In what other country would a President who is elderly and showing signs of dementia be allowed to continue wanting to own other countries and start a war with a country that is well prepared to retaliate against the US? There are other concerns as well, but I believe we are all aware that at any time, half of the world could be destroyed through nuclear warfare.
What are we to think? How might we react? Can we be prepared for all this, and can we protect our children and grandchildren and provide a safe world for them? Will we witness depression and people losing their homes, or going hungry? Is there an answer to all of this? Yes, but only when we can rely on just and righteous Leaders.
What then can we do? We must vote for those who have not been convicted of corruption, who are upright, and who believe in God. We, as they say, can “Hope for the best, and prepare for the worst.” We can teach our young adult children, while they are young, the importance of truthfulness, kindness, values, and morals.
College and a good job are important, I agree. Yet in planning independent strategies for their future, we can remind our children often that their priorities must remain with God in the forefront.
Although we cannot single-handedly change the world. Still, we need not be depressed, however, or lose hope and trust in God. He is our only safe haven. Life here on Earth is temporary for all, and without living as God has asked us, we might lose something far greater than this world, our eternity with god in heaven.
Pray, frequent the sacraments, and know that leaving this world may be the greatest transition of our lives.
God does not give up on us; we often make bad choices, but in submitting our lives to Him, this surrender is not defeat but “Life-saving.”
