A smile is like a prayer for others
Good Friday is, at face value, an odd name for the day that Christ was crucified. This is, of course, the wrong idea, however. It is not good because he died, but rather it is good because he conquered death. We must celebrate Christ's dying in order to celebrate his rising again. Jesus conquered death and died for our sins, and by rising again, he gives us the same chance to join him in eternal life. It is a good Friday because, after his death, we have truly been welcomed into Heaven.
