The face of Jesus
Every time I hear those two words together, I think of that wonderful treasure, sent from Heaven to our family, named Matthew. He loves the song "Soul shine" by the Allman Brothers. The words to that song are so beautiful and I can feel that song was written in particular just for him. His Soul shines. It's going to shine even brighter after Easter, as he is entering into our Catholic Faith as a new symbol of God's Holy Church. This child of God lets his soul shine. Eager to learn the purpose of his existence, he has turned to God with all of his heart. His Soul shines through those crystal blue eyes and illuminating smile that could melt a snowflake at just a glance. He has proven that all people can know God in the most personal way of all. By letting God into his Soul, the radiance of the Holy Spirit spurts out rays of joy that only someone who has accepted Jesus, fully united to God's will, can do.
Our family is blessed. All of us Cradle Catholics can learn a deep lesson in those that walk a new path towards Jesus. Refreshing and exciting and often times hard, but oh so hopeful and rewarding of the God that does exist and waits for each of us, to let our "own" Souls shine.
How appropriate what Saint Matthew says, "let your light so shine, that all may see and give Glory to your Father in Heaven". Matthew 5:16.
We give glory to God, Matthew, as your light shines, helping lead us all to Heaven, where it is illuminated by All Souls that God has lit up by the Holy Spirit.
