Saint Helena
If you have never been to a Christian concert, you should try one! Standing around others who believe in Jesus is not only inspiring, but comforting. There are many musical artists that have had transforming conversions and stories to tell with music that are relatable and transitional for your certain woe. Each artist comes from different walks of life. One thing in common is that they sing about how Jesus changed their lives and saved them.
Great artists like Jeremy Camp, tobymac, CeCe Winans, are just a few names that can sing you right out of whatever ails you. The words that are spoken from another human being who has either struggled somehow in this journey of life, can help you not feel alone or like no one has ever experienced your pain that has held your heart captive by a spirit of "no hope".
Looking around at the thousands who proudly sing out the name of "Jesus", makes the heart swell with joy. Reserved for the hopeless and needy who long for forgiveness, and comfort, sings out the words, "nothing's sweeter than His love". A part of a song that tobyMac preludes to the story of his beloved first son who died from an overdose at just 21 years old. The loss, the anger, the grieving, the heartache, and then finally the surrender. The song is called "faithfully". It is like an anthem to his son, and to himself, that sorrow can lead to trusting in a God that does not want your heart to be sad. Or how about Jeremy Camp's journey of heartache, after marrying the love of his life, just starting out their union, only to find out she has incurable cancer and lose her to this wretched battle. God gave him the strength to move on, and then ultimately find his now wife and raise a beautiful family. Just two instances of how a human being can recover or start recovering. Only by the Light of the Holy Spirit and turning over our sorrow to Jesus Christ. These artists are instruments to all of us who have some degree of suffering and are feeling sad or hopeless. Letting Jesus Christ help carry our burdens and struggles, not necessarily telling us the reason why, but trusting that He will take our burden and help us go on.
Just try going sometime if you have the chance. You won't be disappointed. Open your heart up to the Holy Spirit and He will surely fill you and the void your heart is feeling from whatever is lacking in you to see God's purpose for you, in the great plan of life.
