Repitious Sin
What If ? - Part 1
Submitted by Thomas Stidl
As of now the United States along with Israel and other allies are currently conducting a military operation against the Islamic Republic of Iran. After 45 plus years of turning the other cheek, the allies have finally realized that all prior negotiations with Iran have failed to bring Iran to the understanding that all nations have the right to exist, especially the State of Israel. How and when this military operation will end is anybody's guess. I believe it took courage and fortitude for the allies to approach the Iran problem differently than before.
What if the politicians of the 1930's had the guts to stand up to Japanese Imperialism before Pearl Harbor? Would there have been an attack on Pearl Harbor? If you recall your history lessons from long ago, Japan had attacked China during that period. What if our leaders allowed our military to bomb the Japanese war machine or used the power of our battleships to stop Japanese aggression instead of being docked at battleship row in Hawaii during that time? Chiang Kai-shek's republic of China troops would have possibly been able to defeat Japanese aggression in that region. His troops might have been able to keep Mao Tse Tung from taking control of mainland China avoiding a major Communist blood bath.
Think of how many American lives could have been saved from the greatest generation if the United States would have taken preventative action in the Pacific. Yes, there probably would have been unnecessary casualties in that military action similar to the deaths of the school girls in Iran. May God rest their souls. As for peace talks with Iran, it takes both sides to be sincerely interested in peace. If any of the readers of this article saw the movie 'Tora, Tora, Tora' which is an accurate depiction of pre World War II Japanese/ United States negotiations, the results from these talks yielded stalling our nation and hiding the true nature of Japan's future actions from our eyes. I often wondered how our leaders could have been so misled by Japan. I thank God we learned our lesson from history. Those who fail to learn the lessons of history are forced to relive it.
In part 2, I will write about the European theater of World War II.
Until next time, Laus Tibi, Christe. Laus Deo. Deo Gratias. See you in
Paradise. Amen.
