The head of the household, our beloved St Joseph

     Today is the Feast day of Our dear St Joseph. He is a very prominent and important figure that we must never ever forget in the formation of the Holy Family. 

     Dear St Joseph was chosen by God Himself, to guard, provide, and love our beloved Jesus and Mary. An important role that is proof of how a family should be. His nurturing, along with the Blessed Mother, show to the Child Jesus how to be a good son. Not only to God his father, but to his earthly parents. Something that every son or daughter should know of the importance of our earthly parents. Each child is brought into this world by a father and a mother. The Father in Heaven deemed it so. Ultimately, making God the Father, our "first father".

     By the events surrounding Jesus' Incarnation and the multiple prompts by the Angel to give him direction, thankfully, he did not take his role lightly. St Joseph was no ordinary man. He was from the House of David. Therefore marking him as special, if not only for that reason. 

     Scripture says that Jesus would come from the House of David, therefore, marking Joseph as an excellent candidate for this great honor. Making all things complete by coming first from a loving household of a Blessed Mother and a Blessed Father.

     This Divine Lily of Heaven came to know the love of God, through his love for Mary. Taking all the responsibility of protecting her at all costs. Even to the point of divorcing her quietly, so that she would not be shunned or humiliated because of the present state She told him She was in. To his great shock and dismay, he tried to handle it as an upright and knowledgeable man. But can you imagine the thoughts that went through his mind? Joyous at first, in the thought of becoming Mary's husband, only then to learn she was with child and it was not his. Oh! The Joys and Sorrows of emotion are dear Joseph felt. God sent His Holy Angel to save him from his thoughts and our beloved Joseph trusted with whole heart. His love for Mary and God was unsurmounting. A trust that is an example for all of us to follow. 

     Oh! Good and Holy Saint Joseph! Role model for All families whose desire is to become like the Holy Family. Protect our families and hide us under your most Holy Cloak. Guide all men who are fathers, to be like you. Protecting, nurturing and loving.
