Same as it ever was
Before we get started, please read my previous article, here; Does the Bible have tornadoes?, and, hey, remember, I wrote a book; Elisabeth and the other man (paperback), Elisabeth and the other man (ebook), and check out my latest on Locals; I kinda prayed with Gwen Stefani and Catholic views on the Eucharist
I've never been shy about either my Jewish heritage, or the fact I have family in Israel.
So, an old Jewish saying that I am well familiar with is, “If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans”.
One thing I have been trying to do for sometime is, learn French.
I'm fairly good at reading it, and I can usually understand when other people speak it.
But, here's where I think I'm having the most problem.
1) Writing in French.
2) Responding in French.
So, I went to confession yesterday (as of the day I wrote this), and then Daily Mass, and, walked to the library because it's opened until 8:00 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and I discovered Alliance Française d'Aiken has French classes there every Friday.
Except, apparently, on Friday, 13 March, 2026.
Because, you know, Friday the 13th. The teacher was in French,at least for that week.
So, because I was not yet a member of Alliance Française d'Aiken, I didn't know this.
What does this have to do with telling God your plans?
Well, from the first time, I saw the flier, I knew that I was going to go to the French class, I knew I was going to meet new people.
That didn't quite happen.
"The heart of man dispotheth his way: but the Lord must direct his steps (Proverbs 16:9)
“There are many thoughts in the heart of man: but the will of the Lord shall stand firm” (Proverbs 19:21)
"The steos of man are guided by the Lord: but who is the man that can understand his way"? (Proverbs 20:24)
And, that's the thing, if you follow the ways of the Lord, and don't rely on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5).
Don't tell God your plans, make your plans comport to his.

So, I finished my last article at the library, and went to Daily Mass. Now, as a Catholic I am not required to go to Daily Mass, but, I think God appreciates me worshipping him on a day I don't actually have to go to Mass.
So, whether you go to Daily Mass, change your prayer regiment, or even just want to get deeper into the Word of God, remember, let the Lord direct your steps.
