In the fourth part, we will explore the fourth corporal work of mercy (Shelter the Homeless) and some practical ideas to practice the work of mercy.

On the smaller scale, it is about supporting organizations that are helping those without a home. On a bigger one, offering time and talents at homeless shelters, supporting organizations that build homes for the marginalized, and even advocating for reforms for refugees and immigrants fleeing war-torn countries. It can even be inviting someone who went through a life event and needs support over a meal or a place to rest until things get better.
Here are things Catholics can do
Support Local Organizations
Donate money, clothes, or warm blankets to homeless shelters, Catholic Charities, or organizations like Habitat for Humanity.
Volunteer Time
Serve meals or help with maintenance at local shelters.
Advocate for Policies
Support local and national policies that provide affordable housing and protect those struggling with housing insecurity.
Support Specialized Housing
Help organizations that offer transitional housing for individuals escaping domestic violence or foster children.
Offer Hospitality
Open your home to a friend or neighbor experiencing a personal emergency (e.g., natural disasters like fire or flood)
St. Teresa of Calcutta reminds us, "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love."
