Taking The Time to Say a Prayer
The St. Raymond Nonnatus Foundation is pleased to host a special pilgrimage titled “Freedom and Faith America,” taking place from October 6–15, 2026, in partnership with Trinity Tour Travels. This unique journey is planned in honor of the 250th anniversary of the United States, offering pilgrims the opportunity to reflect on both the spiritual and historical roots that have shaped our nation.
The pilgrimage will travel through several important American cities including Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City, and Boston. Along the way, pilgrims will encounter places that tell the story of both the Catholic faith and the development of religious freedom in America.
This will be the second pilgrimage hosted by the foundation, following the memorable pilgrimage to Italy in November 2025. Pilgrimages provide an opportunity to step away from everyday routines, travel with fellow believers, and deepen one’s faith while visiting places of historical and spiritual importance.
One of the unique aspects of this pilgrimage is the way it brings together both faith and history. Participants will visit beautiful Catholic churches and cathedrals as well as sites that played a role in shaping the nation.
Highlights include visiting St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the historic Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, and significant Catholic cathedrals in Washington, D.C. These sacred spaces invite pilgrims to pray, reflect, and appreciate the role of the Catholic Church in the life of the nation.
The pilgrimage will also include visits to important historical locations such as the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, Independence National Historical Park—home to Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell—and the historic Freedom Trail. Walking through these places helps pilgrims reflect on the sacrifices, struggles, and faith that have shaped the country.
The pilgrimage has been carefully organized so that participants can focus on the spiritual and historical experience while traveling comfortably. Pilgrims will stay in nice, well-located hotels throughout the journey, with breakfast included each morning and most dinners included as well.
Traveling together also creates a special sense of community. Pilgrims often find that sharing prayer, meals, and conversations along the journey leads to new friendships and deeper connections with fellow travelers.
In today’s busy world, pilgrimages provide a meaningful way to slow down and reconnect with what matters most. Visiting the places where both faith and freedom have been lived and defended can renew our appreciation for the blessings we often take for granted.
For many people, these journeys become moments of grace—times to pray, learn, and return home with a deeper sense of gratitude for both faith and country.
Those who are interested in learning more about the Freedom and Faith America Pilgrimage are warmly invited to attend an Information Night on Tuesday, April 7 at 7:15 PM ET on Microsoft Teams. During this session, participants will learn more about the itinerary, travel details, and how to register.
If you are looking for a meaningful journey that combines faith, history, fellowship, and reflection, this pilgrimage may be the perfect opportunity.
