The Ten Commandments ~ A New Way Of Interpretation
God’s Unanswered Questions? And Serving God.
Eileen Renders
We have definitely learned of God’s Commandments and the need to keep them to save our souls from hell. We have been taught about our faith from our parents, our church, and teachers. However, as we grow and mature in our faith and read the Bible, we still can often find ourselves with questions about our lives that seem to be without answer. As a curious person since childhood, I have developed a passion for researching.
Yet when we are speaking about our specific curiosities, we may not find answers anywhere. How do you handle that? To put something of faith importance to rest within my soul, I take what I have learned, my understanding of my relationship with Jesus, and put it all together with the best common sense I have available to come up with a (true or hypothetical) answer that makes sense to me.
Example: If our Blessed Mother Mary is the only person ever born without sin because she was to become the mother of Jesus, why then did the angel come to ask her IF she would accept God’s will?
If God has no favorites, why was the Apostle John referred to as Jesus’ favorite? Was it because Judas turned him over to the Romans to be hung on the Cross for 30 silver pieces, or because Simon would not believe Jesus came back from death unless he touched his side?
Why did some of our Saints perform miracles?
Some of these questions may be answered, perhaps, in a reasonable manner. Here is another example that touches my soul, “Why are some of us born with talents and abilities that are beyond the norm, while they did nothing to gain these talents, abilities, etc? Many of these talents and/or abilities directly connect them with abilities to serve God. Such as Speakers, Writers, Healers, and more. Were these people chosen?
Yes, many are called, but few are chosen. The “chosen”. I believe there are those willing to serve Jesus with all they have. Why does a blind man who is deaf learn to play the piano beautifully on his own?
Why do some have apparitions with instant healings while others die? A six-year-old child who dies from a serious infection, and another six-year-old child has an apparition and instant healing? Does the child who received the healing have a calling from God and is chosen to serve Him?
Although the Catholic Church does not, or cannot, answer our questions, some of us find no peace until we internally resolve these questions in a way that makes sense to us.
My theory is: May are called, but few are chosen simply means we are all called. Only those willing to serve God with a humble and tireless spirit are chosen.
Those who receive an apparition and healing are called because they showed faith at a young age. When they carry that apparition and healing throughout their lifetime and develop a deep, strong relationship with Christ, yes, they become a “favorite.”
Why do some good people die young? God sees the future and decides to save that child from a lifetime of pain and suffering.
Why is it that
So many find they have talents they never knew were available to them? My belief is that this is God’s way of offering them an opportunity to share those talents for the good of others while serving Christ.
Those who seek reward or recognition in this world may not be chosen to serve God.
