Introductory Point:
The woman at the well can be a revelation of Christian division. It makes full sense because, relative to the Old Covenant, she is something like a heretic to Jewish people. She has the sense of the full purity of Judaism, but it is partially corrupted in the minds of the fully Jewish persons, who worship at Jerusalem, which at that time was the true place to worship...
