How deep can the evil from Pride become a reality?
In an eternal moment following the Passion of Christ; Jesus sees the dissolution of man
Take a moment and place yourself in the presence of Christ during our eternal fervor and see his grief as the people he became Incarnated for were dancing in the streets and praising the Crucifixion he was about to undergo. Since there is no element such as chronological time in eternity, we along with our Savior, Jesus Christ, can visualize what is about to occur on the planet we came from; the ignominy we were part of that is sending our Lord to the Cross.
Would all of us, standing before the angels and praising our Heavenly Father, relive with his Son, Jesus, what occurred in that entity we called earth that was and is no more. The very deep and much needed epic of forgiveness for his creatures is about to occur and this Son of God was preparing to become one like us; as we were in our sins.
Can we imagine what God, the Holy Trinity, contemplated in full agreement, that only a divine person could go through this essential experience of assuming humanity, becoming exactly a human person, and suffer like no one ever suffered before. To do this, assuming the person of man who always looked to sin as his special nature would mean that this divine person would feel every painful blow and spit that the rest of humanity would give to him out of meanness and pride. The only divine person was the Trinity and so he would do it; because when he created man he did so because he loved us.
Since there is no past or future in eternity, we have the opportunity of watching the Passion all over again. It is a painful experience that this will be a reminder of the sacrifice that Jesus Christ took upon himself to prove over and over how much he loves us.
This reflection that is not hyperbole will remain forever in the hearts of souls that we were relieved of its horrible visions of what we as sinners should have been the ones to go to the cross. However, as many of us that would have hung there, just as many would stand and jeer saying, “You deserved this” while waiting for their turn. No one would be forgiven because no one is worthy enough to hang on this tree of life nor perfect enough to give anyone mercy.
Without contemplating further on the supposition of eternity and what could’ve been a script that would confuse mankind with an eternal God, let's take a quick look about the entity we all are looking for; The Beatific Vision.
Because of his transcendence, God cannot be seen as he is, unless he himself opens up his mystery to man’s immediate contemplation and gives him the capacity for it. The Church calls this contemplation of God in his heavenly glory “the beatific vision:” (CCC 1028).
How great will your glory and happiness be, to be allowed to see God, to be honored with sharing the joy of salvation and eternal light with Christ your Lord and God….to delight in the joy of immortality in the Kingdom of heaven with the righteous and God’s friends. (St.Cyprian).
