Repentance From Evil
Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Submitted by Thomas Stidl
In my last article I mentioned a daily novena prayer recited by Saint Padre Pio for all our special intentions. It is a short novena which is easy to pray and extremely results oriented. It is a wonderful thought to be united in prayer with a modern day saint who actually had the five wounds of Jesus Christ (the stigmata). This is all very well and good, but in my article, I failed to mention the promises that Jesus made to Saint Margaret Mary for souls devoted to His Sacred Heart.
They are as follows:
1. You will have the necessary graces for living your life.
2. You will have peace in your home.
3. You will have comfort through all your afflictions.
4. The Sacred Heart will be your secure refuge in life as well as death.
5. You will have large blessings on all your endeavors.
6. Sinners will find in the Heart of Jesus an unfathomable ocean of mercy.
7. All lukewarm souls shall grow fervent.
8. All fervent souls shall be perfected completely.
9. By setting a picture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the home and honoring that picture, you will receive a special blessing.
10. All priests who honor the Sacred Heart will touch the most hardened souls. With Lent approaching, this is a excellent idea for all priests.
11. Everyone who promotes this devotion will have their names written in His Sacred Heart.
12. For all souls who receive the Blessed Sacrament on nine Consecutive First Fridays, those souls will receive the grace of final repentance. These souls will not die in disgrace nor without receiving their final sacraments. I feel fortunate that as a child, I received the nine Consecutive First Friday Communions. The Sister who taught this to us in grammar school reminded us of this.
In my time of attending daily Mass as an adult, I accomplished the same feat.
In part 2 of this article, I will alert all readers of prayers to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Until next time, Laus Tibi, Christe. Laus Deo. Deo Gratias. See you in
Paradise. Amen.
