Blessings through the cracks
Mel Robbins recently released a bestselling book titled “The Let Them Theory”. This book highlights the idea that we should not let others' actions affect us negatively. If someone wants to be mean, let them. If someone wants to avoid you, let them. The key is to let them and then to let yourself. We all make mistakes, and we would want others to forgive us, so why not let them make mistakes and forgive them as well? The Let them theory pairs well with Christ's teaching to turn the other cheek. If someone has wronged you, simply let them do so and carry on as if nothing had happened. We can forgive others and not carry the weight of the past if we let others go about their lives as we go about ours. Turn the other cheek and let them slap you. By not being bothered and instead being open to forgiveness, we can show the world that there is a better way.
