A surprise from God when we open our eyes!
A Letter to God for His Realm of Blessings
How often have any of us done more to thank God than just words of thanks? It might appear to be an extra gesture that might not be necessary; but it is when our thanks is more than just a couple of words. Did you think that a short prayer is enough when God put a lot of effort into all the grace that he poured out on us through his Spirit to save us, correct our slips, or give us a blessing we never knew was needed?
We surmise that prayer is like a phone call that should be like a dialogue with the Lord and expecting a response with every question or request that we might want an answer to. Sometimes we will ask ourselves if our requests are too brazen and that will keep us from going too far with a request. But with God there is never a need that is too bold or selfish to ask for help; especially since he is our father and no father is reluctant to give us anything we need. When that request is for our best interests he always addresses our weaknesses that are holy in their essence and will touch our helplessness with grace as well.
For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and the one who knocks, the door will be opened. (Mt 7: 8). One need for the generosity of God is explained so openly from Jesus that no words like a riddle are apparent and he is directing our needy questions to a positive truth of how quick the Lord will come to our needs.
One very positive manner to advocate just what God will hear us is a trust that he is always near and is waiting to hear our request; no matter how insignificant it may appear to us. The great scenario that occurs with our request is no long speech is necessary; only a heart that believes the Lord will hear and quickly answer in his mode of time and respect for our faithful trust in him. No theological premise is expected since most of us are not theologians. Even theologians do not need a philosophical thought as well; just a common down to earth discussion like a son or daughter speaking at the dinner table and asking for a favor from their father.
We should never place the divinity of God so far from us that we become fearful of being too demanding that the Lord will overlook the quest because of our prideful attitude. That is the furthest thought we all must put aside since the reason for Christ to incarnate himself was to show that he would humble himself to assume our human nature. By stepping away from heaven in a gesture of love he became a man with the same needs and questions as all of us.
Therefore, the very type of communications he had with his Father were the same belief and trust that he told us to use as well when asking, seeking, and knocking for answers. Even sinners, prostitutes and tax collectors could ask and they were heard and the Lord responded to them just like us.
When Jesus finished these words, the crowds were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as one having authority, and not as their scribes. (Mt 7: 28 - 28).
