PART TWO: The End Times From the heart of Jesus to our Hearts
Our New Year’s Resolutions
Eileen Renders
In recalling the many New Year’s I have celebrated and lived through, I recollect that my New Year’s resolutions were about making decisions about what to change about myself. Those resolutions often evolved around losing a few pounds, exercising more, and focusing on healthy meals for myself and my family. At the time, I was focused on Health Science and earning a degree. My focus was on Alternative, or Natural Health. As the years passed and I received a License in the District of Columbia as a Doctor of Naturopathy, my lifestyle became more tailored, and my focus began to shift and mature.
In opening the first of its kind “Wellness Center” in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, and as I opened Renders Wellness and began to assist others to reach their own sense of health and wellness, I felt a sense of accomplishment and value. Becoming part of something bigger than myself, an intricate part of my community. I thanked God for that. Also, I began to focus more on God, and how my philosophy in life to help others is a way of serving God.
Now mostly retired, I write to serve God and help others through health and inspiration. So, as we are fortunate enough to see another new year coming into view, let us, together, thank God for our health and work to serve Him for His many gifts and blessings.
Without any great talents or abilities, there is one Saint who stands apart and is an example of how we too can become saintly.
Saint Therese of Lisieux was known as “The Little Flower.” She is a Saint of simplicity, and known for her “Little Way.” St. Therese showed holiness through small, simple acts of kindness, little sacrifices, and her deep trust in God. She showed us that we need not do anything grand to become holy; therefore, she became an example of how each one of us could strive to become a Saint.
