Two Pope Leo's
The Wonder of God
Submitted by Thomas Stidl
On Christmas Day 2025, while listening to Christmas carols on the radio, I began to contemplate the wonder and awesomeness of Jesus Christ. I did not know even where to begin as my finite mind tried to comprehend the infinite mind of God. His human birth shows the depth of his love for us. Try to imagine a being who has been in existence from before there was a beginning in perfect coexistence with the Father, being born in time. He humbled Himself to be born in human flesh even though He could have assumed any human body without growing up human. However, He chose human birth knowing that He was meant to die for our sins. This Second Person of the Holy Trinity humbled Himself to be totally human in all things but sin, and He never gave up his God-like power while on earth. He always remained the spotless Lamb of God as his cousin John the Baptist spoke of Him. This is why Jesus is true God and true man.
He began his public ministry by changing water into wine at the Wedding Feast at Cana. He prove his membership in the Eternal Godhead countless number of times during his public ministry. He healed the sick and raised people from the dead. He fed thousands of people with the miracle of the Loaves and Fishes. People were so astounded by His feats that they wanted to make Him their King immediately. He had to seek refuge in the mountains for He knew that His destiny was the cross which He considered his throne.
On the night before He died, He gave his disciples the power to transform bread and wine into his body, blood, soul, and divinity. Talk about feeding thousands, His disciples and future ordained ministers now feed millions with the Bread of Life from the altars of every Catholic parish in the world. This is food for the journey throughout our life. We consume Him, and He becomes a part of us eventually filling our entire being with His True Presence. This is our daily walk with God. We should converse with Him daily telling Him our concerns and plans for the future. Either, He will guide us or He will enlist the Holy Spirit to help us in our needs. On the night that He rose from the dead, He also gave His disciples and future priests the power to forgive sins. This is truly awesome power supervised the Father.
It gives me great joy to be a Catholic. We truly have the full deposit of the Faith. As for what I have written here, I have barely scratched the surface. Until next time, Laus Tibi, Christe. Deo Gratias. Gloria Tibi Domini. Praise be to God. See you in Paradise. Amen.
