Why you should have multiple versions of the Bible
Before we get started, please be sure to check out my previous article; The LORD reigns, check out my latest on Locals; Happy Birthday, Mom! The Immaculate Conception, and Our Lady of Guadalupe, and, if you'd like to help me out this Advent season, go here; Help with medical bills
Since I dealt with the background of man's creation in the previous article (Aliens are not demons part I), I think this me as well be a Bible study on some of the cosmological aspects of the Book of Genesis.
So, I don't want a huge amount of text for this article, but, at the same time, I feel like it's important to get the context.
Let's use some mood music; The X-files theme
So, without further ado,
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and voice; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be ligh: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness, he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the water. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters that were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: And God saw that it was good. And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the third day. And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven and to divide the day from the night; and let them be for sings, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day. And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly. And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after hid kind, cattle and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind, and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. (Genesis 1:1-25)
So, let's note what it doesn't say.
Anything about extraterrestrial life, whatsoever.
There's a lot there about what God created on earth.
And who God created on earth.
But, nothing, one way or the other, about aliens.
Yet, in none of those verses, do I see anything that would make me think God couldn't or didn't make life on an other planets.
I want to hone on in verses 2-3, and 14-19.
Notice what's missing?
ANY VERSES THAT CONFIRMS OR DENIES THAT GOD CREATED LIFE ON ANOTHER PLANET.
Anyway, since this took a long time to write, all verses are from the King James Version. Sorry about translator bias, but, public domain Bibles are better for longer text.
I thought I wanted to write more, but then I realized something;
Arguments from silence aren't convincing.
