Charges Against Pro-Life Journalists Dropped
The second Sunday of Advent is upon us. This week, we reflect on the theme of peace. This week, we are all invited to continue our Christmas preparations. The second candle of Advent reminds us that God brings peace into every storm.
Here are six ways to continue our Advent preparations as we await the coming Messiah.
Immaculate Conception Holy Day
Don’t forget December 8th is a Holy Day of Obligation. Attend Mass like it was a Sunday.
Mary and St. Joseph Journey
Mary and St. Joseph are journeying to Bethlehem. We must ponder all who may be traveling this Advent to get home or who are away from their families. Say an Our Father for their safe travels.
Read the Gospel for the 2nd Sunday of Advent
We need more St. John the Baptists today in a culture that has hardened its hearts from God. Read the gospel on how this prophet and cousin of our lord and ask how you can do what he did to prepare for Christ’s coming with those around you.
Pray Outside of Abortion Facility / Support Local Pregnancy Centers
In honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe (December 12th), patroness of the unborn, support the culture of life at its most vulnerable stage, and that is the moment of conception. Find an abortion facility near you and pray for an hour or two.
Write Letters or Send Cards
So many will be receiving Christmas cards or even letters from loved ones in the coming days. Be sure to send out to those who are lonely or shut in due to medical issues.
The peace of Christ should be shared far and wide.
Honey
St. John the Baptist ate wild honey as part of his diet. Maybe it is a good idea to incorporate honey into a recipe or two for dinner this week like Honey Roasted Chicken.
May the peace of Christ resonate in your heart.
