Why?...
Since at least the pontificate of Francis and continuing with Leo XIV, the Vatican and way too many bishops in the United States and throughout the world have kowtowed to and promoted a singular narrative regarding the issue of immigration, especially involving Western countries, and primarily the United States and how it officially responds to the large number of illegal immigrants seeking entrance into or already illegally residing in the United States.
And the basic narrative of these princes of the Church is as follows: The United States under President Trump is not treating illegal immigrants with the respect and dignity they deserve by being members of the human race. And what is the evidence behind this charge? NOTHING OR NEXT TO NOTHING. And where does this narrative come from? Almost exclusively from left-leaning Individuals, leftist socio-political organizations, leftist academics, and all of their fellow travelers who want the United States to merely accept illegal immigrants with open arms, and just forget about all of the problems tied up with illegal immigration, including drug smuggling, people trafficking, election fraud, strains on the economy, relevant health concerns, and so on and so on that are obtusely brushed off by the bishops as overblown problems that are used as excuses for bigotry toward immigrants.
So instead of honestly and objectively looking at the issue and ALL relevant factors and elements involved, the Vatican and Bishops gullibly accept the misleading and largely false narrative, and since the narrative contains unjust charges of immoral behavior and attitudes, both the Vatican and concurring bishops shamefully double and triple down on the false narrative by adding their own false accusations of immoral behavior on the part of border agents and of course President Trump as the demonized author of the overall immigration policy.
What makes this even worse is the fact that lifelong Catholic Tom Homan is the United States Border Czar, and he has pointed out the errors in the Church’s bogus accusations and claims, but it does not appear that Leo in Rome or the head of the USCCB, two groups that promote “dialogue” on just about everything under the Sun, have extended Mr. Homan and perhaps a few leaders on his staff the courtesy of inviting them in for a serious “dialogue,” and even more importantly, to receive their insights and data and commentary on what is actually taking place as they witness it on the front lines.
I am both saddened and angered by the reality that ongoing accusations of wrongdoing continue to be made, yet those who have the ability to answer such charges are deemed guilty without any kind of a real opportunity to present their case in an informative meeting that features honest dialogue not poisoned by false narratives. WHY NOT? For the Church who throughout its history has championed truth to just abandon it for a mere secular narrative that lacks objective evidence is outrageously wrong as well as being stunningly ignorant.
A Large Elephant in the Room That is Intentionally Ignored
While the majority of bishops puff up their chests in what they present as righteous indignation for the alleged but woefully unsupported and largely made-up charges of abuse of immigrants by US border agents, the large disgusting elephant in the room that is and should always be a primary consideration regarding the issue of immigration in general is hardly if ever addressed by the bishops. In short, that egregious elephant stands out in stark detail by considering the following series of questions:
What is significantly lacking in those countries that have many of their citizens seeking to emigrate to other countries, with the United States being a most coveted destination? And a natural follow-up to this is the following question that contains part of the answer to it:
How much immigration would there be if the countries that have many of their citizens seeking to emigrate elsewhere actually treated their own people with more respect and freedom, especially economic freedom?
Where do most emigrants seek to emigrate? To countries with less economic freedom or more economic freedom?
Why don’t all of the bishops throughout the world call out and seriously criticize all of the countries that do not operate on natural law principles and more freedom for their people, and encourage them to do so immediately so that very few of their citizens will have any need to move elsewhere for a better life?
And lastly, if the United States’ still largely capitalist system is so corrupt as the previous pontiff, his successor, and fellow travelers have continued to harp on, then why do they advocate more people coming here where they can only be corrupted by the US capitalist system?
