Desire Habit Compulsion
Babylon the Great
Submitted by Thomas Stidl
As you all know, there was an election for Mayor in New York City. Zorhan Mamdani was elected mayor and will take over the running of the city soon. During his campaign, he proposed sweeping changes for New York City if he was elected. Many people and businesses have prepared plans to leave the city due to his high taxes on the rich and the middle class. The Florida real estate market is buzzing with anticipation to see if the future personal and business plans come to fruition.
As all of us know, most forms of Communism/Socialism do not work and have failed miserably. Venezuela is a prime example in our hemisphere. The system takes all of the money from the rich and the middle class and gives to government which will undoubtedly become corrupt and siphon the money to another class of people known as elites such as the new mayor elect himself who is extremely wealthy. The usual outcome where the money will never go to the poor and downtrodden is inevitable.
In the past week, the mayor-elect met with the President of the United States. Everything seemed so cordial and positive. Please remember that the meeting was just words. If those words are not followed by actions to keep a strong middle class, businesses, and the rich to invest in them in New York City, I can see a biblical prophecy being at least partially fulfilled.
The prophecy hails from the book of Revelation, Chapter 18. “Fallen, fallen is Babylon, the Great.” Another verse prophesy's, “The merchants of earth will weep and mourn for her, because there will be no more markets for their cargo.” Maybe those people who wish to leave New York City are heeding another biblical passage which states, “Come out of her you my people” so you are not partakers in the judgments and punishments that will be inflicted upon her. The sins of that city are enormous. Hopefully, the righteous can leave while there is still time. Only time will tell if what is written here comes to fruition.
Until next time, Laus Tibi, Christe. Deo Gratias. Gloria Tibi Domini. Praise be to God. See you in Paradise. Amen.
