All Things Catholic: Book Review
As I write my reflection for Thanksgiving, I can’t help but think of the many blessings God has bestowed upon me in my life.
2025 has been a big year in my life. I was wrapping up wedding planning with my wife. It did have its fair share of hair-pulling, last-minute adjustments, and even some final touches.
I lost some family members and neighbors who have gone to God. I took a chance at a promotion at work. Even God blessed my wife and me with news that changed our lives.
I am thankful for the many people who continue to be a part of my life.
Recently, I’ve had a song from Seph Schuleter called “Counting My Blessings” on my mind as I take time to give thanks to God.
The artist sings, “God, I'm still counting my blessings. For all that you've done in my life. The more that I look at the details. The more of Your goodness I find.”
God has done so much for us that we must take the time to make known all of His blessings to everyone we encounter. Life can’t be taken for granted because God created it for us to live it fully and freely. When we pause and give thanks, we offer our gratitude to our Creator.
Whether we have experienced hardship, a life transition, an answer to a long prayer, or a miracle, we must let God know about it.
As we celebrate Thanksgiving, let’s take time to count all of God’s blessings in our lives. Never take it for granted. God wants his children to give thanks and not worry about what they don’t have.
For me I am thankful for my family, my wife, and the many Catholics and non-Catholics I’ve encountered daily who have helped me to be a better version of myself.
The one blessing that I am even thankful to God for is the news that my wife and I received in September 2025 that has changed our lives, receiving news that we are parents as we will welcome our first child in May 2026.
Count your blessings and make them known to everyone. Say a prayer for our departed. Make memories with those who will surround you at the table. Most importantly, get to Mass and or adoration.
God Bless! Happy Thanksgiving
