On Lent

“And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose, (Rom. 8:28). Do you believe that? Do you believe that He’ll make all things work in your favor if you trust him? This promise is ours for the taking if only we’re willing to believe in His provision. Trusting God wasn’t always easy for me, there was a time that I distrusted that which I could not see, but through much prayer and petition, God has helped me to see Him in light of who He is on the cross for me. God is my savior and He loves me. He is willing to give me anything my heart desires, provided it’s consistent with His will. “Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart,” (Psalm 37:4). What could possibly be out of the reach of God? The key here is to make our desires consistent with the will of God. We do that by staying in the word of God and my obeying His commandments. Listening to the Lord is as easy as reading it off the pages of the bible. The Lord is good, He is faithful to keep His promises, no matter how impossible they may seem. God gives good things to those who follow Him.
I have a lifetime of messiness in my life, mistakes I’ve made over the years, and perhaps regrets, but God is able to take all of that and have it work together for my good! How incredible is that? First, that He is willing to do this for me, and second, that there is a great big God in my life who is able! Believe me when I tell you that He is willing to do amazing things in your life too. Trusting in the Lord’s word is easy, because God cannot lie. God is truth. “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me,” (John 14:6). God is the only truth that we have to hope in. God is our best hope in a bad situation. He will make things work out for us and all we have to do is believe in Him. If we trust in what He says, it’s done.
