A Call of the Spirit

A siren call, it is; a whisper to the sleeping soul;
A call of awakening that seeps out of the soul;
Yes, a hidden, life-giving spring of divine grace.
It can be accepted or not.
The response depends entirely on oneself.

Many make the decision based on pre-conceived notions;
Of self-worth, self-importance, even worldly desires.
Yet one thing no man can do without,
Can never be measured in dollars and cents.
It is the love, the truth, the voice of the Spirit within.

Certain moments leap into the recesses of memory-
A touch, a phrase, a look, turn our mind to listen;
To become awaken to the gentle urging of the Spirit.
This is the impetus of Advent- to be awaken to the call,
To waken to the tune of true joy.
