Avoiding the Christmas Creep
The eleventh month of the year is another “ber” month. November is the month dedicated to the Holy Souls in Purgatory. It is a time that we remember all the souls of the faithful departed.
It begins with the feast of All Saints Day. While it is not a Holy Day of Obligation, all are encouraged to attend Mass to honor the holy men and women who emulated Christ in their daily lives while obtaining the rewards of heaven. The month will conclude with a transition to the liturgical calendar as we gear up for a new liturgical year, Advent.
November is also filled with many feast days of holy men and women to exemplify God’s commandments of steadfast faith and love of neighbor and enemy.
