Against Inclusiveness
Much has been written on and about meditation, an exercise in quieting the mind and self-reflection – for the most part. Christian meditation has been not so much in the forefront of cultural and spiritual trends as much as the Oriental type. The difference between the two is Oriental meditation instructs one to empty the mind and reflect on becoming one with all things. On the other hand, Christian meditation instructs one to fill the mind with Christ-like thoughts to become Christ-like. In Oriental meditation you meet yourself, or an impersonal Nirvana, Brahman, or the Tao; in Christian meditation you reflect on a relationship and you meet Him.
