Love, it's a good thing
Today, we celebrate Carlo Acutis's death Anniversary. He died on October 12th, 2006, at the young age of 15. Oh! To have had a son like him! His mother claims she went to Mass only for her First Communion, her Confirmation, and her wedding. But leave it up to Carlo! His love for the Holy Mass and the Sacraments at such a young age drove his parents and relatives to go to daily Mass and to receive Communion daily by his sweet example of his great desire for this. What a turnaround! A child leading and guiding the adults! He was the kind who defended kids who got picked on at school, especially disabled kids. It is said, that when a friend's parents were getting a divorce, Carlo made a special effort to include his friend in the Acutis's family life. He promoted Eucharistic miracles. Especially through a website he built himself. On this site, he told people that the more often you receive Jesus in the Eucharist, the more we become like Jesus. In his sufferings with leukemia, he offered his pain for the Church, the Pope and for people who are suffering also with illness. Do you know any 15-year-olds who do this? Leave it up to Carlo, to help show us all the way!
It has been made known that Carlo was a gamer. He loved video games. His choice was a PlayStation, or possibly a PS2, which was released in 2000, when Carla was just nine years old. He, at just nine, only allowed himself to play games for an hour a week, doing this as a penance, knowing his love for playing, bringing it upon himself to do this Spiritual discipline. He was a normal 15-year-old. A normal child! He wanted to play more but this Spiritual discipline was good for his soul and he knew it! So he did it!. His normality is so intense that one wonders how this sweet jewel ever survived in a world that is pushed and pushing our youth to be so self gratifying and selfish.
Leave it to Carlo! A child, a warrior for God at only 15 years old, to teach all of us the "way". To be a shining example to all teens, of the importance of loving God, especially in the Sacraments.
Leaving this Earth too soon, though we shall never ever forget this bright star, we remember him today, October 12th, as a day when the Heavens got more illuminated by Love.
Leave it to Carlo! Shine your sweet light on us dear sweet Carlo Acutis! Show the youth and all of us the way to our Heavenly home, reunited with you, and all of the Saints and Angels to praise God forever!
