Blood nourishes our life; the Blood of Christ redeems our souls forever.
Let us become Evangelizers like the Prophets of Old
We can speak or write and surpass the prophets’ teaching that opened our minds to God’s choices of those he ordained to spread his word. This does not make us better than them but using the current crisis in a world gone mad with so much turmoil the error of mistaken identity as to what must be said has changed from centuries ago and the time of 2025.
The constant rejection by the Israelites, God’s chosen nation, needed to be corrected in their observance of his commandments to listen with two ears both working together to keep his message compacted within their brains. We may be aware of the adage that a message from sound advice goes in one ear and out the other can be just what went on in the desires of people who grew tired of listening to some shepherd or tree dresser of the Sycamores.
There could’ve been a problem when picking a scholar or very intellectual prophet to spread the word of God’s plan in the early era of humanity; so God wanted the prophets to be simple in the eyes of others so that their words would come from the lowly ministers in lieu of documented scholars with PHd’s that would place their words as the official pronouncement of God’s desires.
By "Prophets" the faith of the Church here understands all whom the Holy Spirit inspired in the composition of the sacred books, both in the Old and the New Testaments. Jewish tradition distinguishes first the Law (the first five books or Pentateuch), then the Prophets (our historical and prophetic books) and finally the Writings (especially the wisdom literature, in particular the Psalms. (Footnote to CCC 702). But the point here is how the Lord chooses those who are to be the prophets in all times.
God chose the foolish of the world to shame the wise, and God chose the weak of the world to shame the strong, and God chose the lowly and despised of the world, those who count for nothing, to reduce to nothing those who are something, so that no human might boast before God. (Cor 1: 27 - 29).
Anyone who proclaims the Gospel of Christ is a prophet since he or she is picked to announce the Truth of Christ and the need to change their ways and repent. Never feel that the Holy Spirit will not plant that ability within you because you aren’t endowed with special talents or identifications behind your name. He chooses whom he will because of your faith that will touch someone who is in need of holiness that might just come from you.
This again is a call to those who feel called in some manner to speak out what is on their minds. Sit and begin to write if you never tried to before. You’ll be surprised what can appear on your paper or PC.
As an interesting note to speaking; Moses had some problems speaking and he had his brother Aaron speak for him. Moses, however, said to the Lord, “If you please, Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past, nor recently, nor now that you have spoken to your servant, but I am slow of speech and tongue. The Lord said to him, “Who gives one man speech and makes another deaf and dumb? Or who gives sight to one and makes another blind? Is it not I, the Lord, Go then! It is I who will assist you in speaking and will teach you what you are to say.” Yet he insisted, “If you please, Lord, send someone else.” Then the Lord became angry with Moses and said, “Have you not your brother, Aaron the Levite? I know he is an eloquent speaker.” He shall speak to the people for you; he shall be your spokesman." (Ex 4: 10 - 14, 16).
