Confession, Penance, and Me
Because real peace doesn’t fade—it anchors.
Lord, what is peace?
Is it the hush after chaos—
or the courage to breathe steady inside the storm?
The world sells it in pieces:
a new job,
a bigger house,
another distraction.
But the peace they give
expires as quickly as it arrives.
Your Word whispers different:
“My peace I give you.
Not as the world gives.”
So why do I keep drinking from leaking cups,
when Living Water sits at my door?
Teach me, Lord—
that peace is not the absence of suffering,
but Your presence in the fire.
That peace is not when the battle ends,
but when I know I am not fighting alone.
Because peace of mind fades with time.
But peace of heart in Christ—
that stays even when my heartbeat doesn’t.
