On Praying to the Saints

Ever notice how around Christmas time there is a spirit of giving and brotherhood in the air? We call it the spirit of Christmas, and rightfully so, because the essence of this sacred holiday is promulgated by the Spirit of Christ Himself. His Name is the Holy Spirit and He is One with the Holy Trinity. The Holy Spirit is God Himself and He comes to prepare the way for the celebration of our Lord’s birthday. Unfortunately many of us get caught up in perfecting this day to where it’s unrecognizable from its holy intention. Christ isn’t concerned with a perfect holiday - He’s likely content with us remembering His birthday at all! Christ is a simple man. He was born in a manger under a bright beautiful star, and all He wants for Christmas is our fellowship with Him.
Jesus Christ is Christmas. Sadly, we forget this sometimes and spend thousands on each other, on decorations, on planning for months ahead of time to perfect one day when families and friends come together in honor of a tall Christmas trees and ornaments. Somehow He went from being the Season to being set aside for the glimmer of wrapping paper, bows and lights. He is the Promise who came to earth in the flesh to save us. Without Him Christmas ceases to exist. What exactly is it that we are celebrating anyway if the Savior who put the Christ in Christmas is not there? We can make this holiday as elaborate as we want with time off, decorations, and presents, but without Jesus Christ it is simply no holy day at all. God the Father sent His only begotten Son as a helpless infant on or about the day we celebrate Christmas just for us!
This Holiday is about the Father’s gift to the world. An eternal gift that saves. Jesus is the reason for the season. If the Name of the savior is not with you today, you’re missing the point.
MERRY CHRISTMAS (and Happy Birthday) JESUS!
