Why Choose Hate?

I've been reading a couple of books about the Mass. And there is a lot of content about Communion. People spend time wondering why so many have left the church and where the appreciation for the special gift of the Eucharist went too. They feel that if more realized how important the Eucharist is that ever pew on Sunday would be filled. Maybe more would stay for the whole Mass instead of sneaking out the door after Communion trying to beat the crowd.
One idea struck me. The Eucharist is something that to most Catholic's is worth a very high price. And one Priest had the idea of instead of saying, "Body of Christ" when people go to Communion, he suggested saying, "One Million Dolllars." Would that phrase convince people to go to Mass? Would that change anyone's mind?'
Thinking of the Eucharist in terms of dollars raises another question. Just how much is it worth to us? Is it worth going to Mass every week, being an example to others who don't go? Is it worth the time needed to evangelize to those who say they are Catholic, yet have a reason or reasons to stay away? I hope so. I hope the best gift we have been given, the Body and Blood of our Lord are woth it. I hope it's worth it. I hope it's worth more than one million dollars.
