What? You Think Catholics Don't Read the Bible?

I’ve heard all sorts of reasons why people don't believe in God, but I haven't heard one yet that makes any sense to me.
Like, how do you know there's a God, can you prove it? No, I say, but can you prove there isn't?
Or how about, if there's really a God then why did Jesus cry out, 'my God, my God, why have You forsaken me?’
Well, we as Catholics know God did not abandon Jesus. It was Jesus in his human form experiencing what we experience when we are suffering. We feel the same abandonment Jesus felt when we think God has abandoned us. The sins of the world weighed heavy on Jesus and for that reason He cried out from His human form on the cross those words to the Father.
The one though I like best as a reason not to believe in God is, if there was a God, he wouldn't allow bad things to happen or allow suffering in the world. I think Mother Teresa said it well when she spoke about suffering, and I quote:
“Suffering, pains sorrow, humiliation, feelings of loneliness, are nothing but the kiss of Jesus, a sign that you have come so close that He can kiss you.”
I believe Mother Teresa meant that without suffering we can't experience Jesus’ love for us. Because it is through our suffering we come to know Him better and that is through prayer and love. Through other's suffering we give Love and they receive our love. The same love Jesus had for us and gives us. It is His love we give others and like a loving Father, He is there to hold us in His arms and give us that love back which we need.
Jesus knew suffering and we too must suffer, but like Jesus, if we follow Him, we shall die and later know eternal life.
Our Lady Herself said, 'I cannot promise you happiness in this life, only the next.’
To those non believers who find so many reasons NOT to believe, I ask, what do you have to lose by believing? I would only answer by saying, Nothing! You have nothing to lose by believing, rather, you have everything to GAIN.
'I love You, Christ Jesus’
