Knowing God

I’ve learned an important lesson I’d like to share with you: God doesn’t give up on us, and nothing will ever separate us from His love. I know this, because during times of frustration, I’ve wanted to give up on Christianity, and through my doubt, Christ stands by my side and reminds me that I am His and that there is no walking away from my faith, because nothing can separate us ever again. We are one. Once the Holy Spirit indwells us, we become one body in Christ Jesus our Lord.
We are the Lord’s investment. He invested His Son when He allowed Christ to die on the cross for us and nothing can separate us from His love. And if God loves us so much that He gave us His only begotten Son, then what on this earth can possibly overtake us? “What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us,” (Rom 8:31-34).
God is with us wherever we are and wherever we go. He believes in us and will never forsake us. Nothing will ever cause us to be separated from His love. “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord,” (Rom 8:38-39).
Even in distress, He is with us. Our world may be falling apart but God is at our side shielding us from harm. The God that created the universe cares for us and never forsakes us. He promises to stand by our side no matter what, and so it is. We are never without Him, because the Holy Spirit indwells us. “Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us,” (Rom 8:35-37)
Being in His will and in His life gives us the security we need to live our lives boldly and without fear. Knowing that He is in our corner strengthens our resolve. We are Christian and we are His, we have a Master we can look up to and have the privilege of calling Lord. Christ is our own and we live our lives to please Him, because never again will we be alone.
