Cross-Claimed
Because breathing is not the same as living.
I exist.
I wake. I work. I eat. I sleep.
The cycle turns,
and I call it life.
But Heart whispers,
“This is not life.
This is survival dressed as existence.”
Because what is existence without connection?
What is a body without a soul,
a voice without an echo,
a prayer without a God to hear it?
I scroll through faces,
likes, messages,
but still feel the hollow ache.
I exist in the crowd—
but am I connected to anyone?
And deeper still—
am I connected to Him?
The vine without branches still exists,
but it bears no fruit.
The branch without the vine still exists,
but it withers in silence.
Jesus said, “Remain in Me,
as I remain in you.” (John 15:4)
Connection is not optional.
It is oxygen for the soul.
So I ask myself:
Am I existing—
or am I abiding?
Am I passing through days,
or am I rooted in the One
who called me by name?
Because existence is a flicker.
Connection is a flame.
Existence is a body.
Connection is breath.
Existence is time.
Connection is eternity.
I don’t just want to exist.
I want to be connected.
To people.
To purpose.
To God.
Because only then is my existence alive.
