Why I Am Not Thankful, because

To make this very short and easy to understand, the government pays people.
We have help, yes nurses come and help. Our kids require 24 hour care. We don't have enough nurses or hours because of cuts to state programs. Just getting to the grocery store or mowing the lawn can be a challenge. We won't even talk about sleep.
People show up that are paid to do so. We have had people come out and help once and never come back. We do have some people, like my mom, and a family friend come help when they can. However, it's not consistent. They have jobs and things they need to do as well. We don't have a village.
Government became God when they started to have to pay people to come to the assistance of kids like ours. Before this era, people of faith would staff and fund the care of orphans. As people of faith started receding in the area of social service, the help was replaced by government funded helpers, to the point now where that is all we have. We have help according to the rules and at the mercy of our state. It's a scary and tiring place to be. The state does not assign the value to our children that Christ does, and it shows.
