For Truth and Love

John the Baptist was beheaded

Christian’s at the time a death they too dreaded

Not as much though as crucifixion

Which our Lord suffered for our salvation

For the truth of love did they die

And today as then martyrs many with heads held high

For the truth of good not evil

Will good men spit in the eye of the devil

For on this earth we do not belong

No with our Father in His Realm do we long

Suffer we must for truth and love

So we may live joyously in Heaven above
