Prayer for Love to Stay
Your spiritual inbox is full. When will you open it?
We all hate the sight of unread messages piling up on our phones. The little red notification keeps blinking, yet we swipe it away, thinking, “I’ll check it later.”
But what if I told you that your soul also has unread messages? And they’re from God.
The truth is, God speaks every day. Not always through booming voices or thunder from heaven, but through moments, signs, and whispers in the ordinary. The problem? We keep leaving them on “read later,” until “later” never comes.
When something good happens and we receive praise, we quickly say, “I worked hard for this.” But maybe God is saying, “Yes, you worked hard — and I helped you help yourself.” Message left unread.
When a relationship keeps draining us and our heart feels heavier with each passing day, God might be saying, “This is not where your soul will flourish.” But we reply to ourselves, “Maybe I’m just not good enough. Maybe I should try harder.” Message left unread.
When I lost my mom, my first reaction was to ask God why He took her. It took prayer to realise: I had been asking God not to let her suffer anymore. His answer was mercy. Message read — but late.
When opportunities shut down, we think it’s rejection. But sometimes it’s God’s protective “No” — Not this. Not now.
When sudden gut feelings arise, we call them paranoia, ignoring that they might be God’s whispers of warning. When delays frustrate us, we fail to see that God may have just shielded us from something worse ahead.
Unread messages don’t just vanish. They sit there, waiting for us to open them. Some are gentle reminders, others are urgent alarms. But every one of them is sent in love, for your good, and in His perfect timing.
Don’t let God’s words gather dust in your soul. Today, pause. Re-read the moments you brushed off. The praise you received. The breakup you didn’t want. The loss that broke you. The gut feeling you ignored.
Maybe they weren’t random. Maybe they were God’s way of saying — I’m here. I’m speaking. I’m guiding you.
