Don’t Just Wear the Cross – Bear It
What Heaven Saw Wasn’t His Clothes
“And He was transfigured before them, and His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became white as light."— Matthew 17:2
We live in a world obsessed with appearances, filters, fashion. But on Mount Tabor, Jesus revealed a truth far deeper than glowing garments or radiant faces.
The Transfiguration wasn’t about divine costume and cosmetics. It was about core.
But what truly changed that day wasn’t just what the disciples saw—it was what they began to understand.
Jesus gave them a glimpse of glory—not as something worn, but as something within.
And in doing so, He wasn’t just revealing who He was. He was inviting us to reflect on who we’re becoming.
Why Did Jesus Transfigure?
Because He knew the cross was coming. And He knew His disciples would be shaken.
So before the suffering, He showed them the splendor. Before the pain, He offered a promise.
The Transfiguration was preparation—for Him, yes. But also for them. And for us.
It’s heaven’s way of saying: You may see scars soon, but remember—there’s glory beneath the grief.
What Does This Mean for Us?
We too are invited to be transfigured—not outwardly, but inwardly.
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind.” (Romans 12:2)
And how does this transformation happen? Not through external upgrades, but through daily disciplines:
• Prayer – Just as Jesus ascended the mountain to pray, so must we. Prayer isn’t escape; it’s alignment. It’s where transformation begins.
• Caring for Others – True holiness isn’t about shining clothes. It’s about loving well, serving humbly, and seeing Christ in the least.
• Living the Word – The Father said, “Listen to Him.” That’s not a suggestion—it’s the secret. Hearing the Word is good. Living it is where transfiguration truly begins.
Why Does This Matter?
Because one day, we too will stand before the Lord. And in that final moment, He won’t be looking at our résumé, our wardrobe, or our status.
He’ll be looking at our core. At who we became in the silence. In prayer. In trials. In love.
The Real Formula:
Transfiguration = Prayer + Presence + Purpose
When you pray consistently, live with presence, and walk with purpose— you don’t just act like Jesus. You become like Him.
Don’t settle for cosmetic Christianity. You were made for core transformation.
Because in the end, it’s not about what the world sees on you— but what heaven finds in you.
