The Chain of Virtue
INTRODUCTION
Being in the moment is a way for you to improve your life. By being in the moment you experience the goodness of God and possess life.
Being in the moment has to be done in accordance with God to be effective. It is not possible to experience the goodness of God and possess life apart from being in the moment.
A moment is a specific occurrence in the world for a specific purpose at a specific time in a specific place.
Moments are precious gifts from God--specifically targeted to the human person--that allow for you to have a better life.
Moments are identifiable, distinguishable, unique, and unrepeatable.
BEING IN THE MOMENT AND POSSESSING LIFE
Being in the moment and possessing life requires the human person to
· encounter God
· accomplish an activity
· enter into communion with God
Encountering God
Encountering God for the human person is only possible by invitation. Without an invitation from God, the human person cannot encounter God.
God truly comes from a place that is above. He is “Most High” (Ps 97: 9) and “the almighty” (Rev 1:8).
God has authority over all the earth and all that is, was, and is to come.
God comes from a place of authority to encounter the human person. In encountering the human person, God lowers his self to the level of the human person.
It this act of love that allows the human person an opportunity to accomplish an activity and enter into communion with God.
The encounter between God and the human person is only made possible because of Jesus Christ---who is true God and true human person.
Accomplishing an Activity
Accomplishing an activity is only possible through God’s grace. There is nothing that exists which God did not create by his grace. There is nothing that happens that does not happen by God’s grace.
God has a specific activity he desires the human person to accomplish in the moment. This activity is always in the best interest of the person.
God desires the human person to accomplish an activity so the human person can have a better life. Having a better life means leaving behind your “old self” and putting on your “new self” (Eph 17-24).
Accomplishing an activity means the human person is becoming like God. God approached the human person in love in a state of encounter and it is in love that human person must respond in their activity.
Love recognizes only itself and it is not possible to repay love with anything that is not love. An act of love is the only way to enter into communion with God.
Entering into Communion with God
When the human person accomplishes an activity, he or she enters into communion with God. It is in this communion with God the person possesses a better life than before.
God does not desire you to pass away. God desires you to be in the moment and possess life.
God sends the human person Jesus so that the human person may have life. Jesus freely offers his self to the person. It is necessary for the human person to be as Jesus is in order to enter and remain in God.
Jesus is “the way and the truth and the life” (Jn 14:6). As Jesus said: “No one comes to the Father except through me” (Jn 14:6).
Jesus is in the present. He is ready to bring the human person into communion with God. He wants to do what is best for the human person. All that is needed is the yes of the human person.
CONCLUSION
Being in the moment and possessing life requires being according to God’s will.
You cannot claim to be in the moment and possess life if you are not encountering God, accomplishing an activity, and entering into communion with God.
Love is the test if you are being in the moment and possessing life. “Whoever is without love does not know God, for God is love” (1 Jn 4:8).
God is good. God uses his goodness to bring good into your life. God is always at work until his purpose is accomplished.
You can have confidence that God loves you and that God wants you to have a better life by being in the moment.
