Who Are Those That God May Not Forgive?
We are being Challenged by God
Eileen Renders
Today, more than ever in our lives, we are being challenged. We must do more than the minimum requirement of attending Mass on Sunday and fulfilling our Easter duty. Sadly, many attend Mass and leave the Church on Sunday feeling as though they are living according to God’s will.
In our busy lives, with a home, children, and jobs, we are busy. How grateful are we for our home, children, and opportunity to work and provide for our children?
The floods of Texas (my last count) accounted for 119 dead, many of them children, and 171 unaccounted for. Now in New Mexico, there are several dead, homes swept away, wars raging, Ukraine being pummeled by Russia, the poor and hungry murdered from war while out seeking food. Two young children left in a car in over 100 degrees, one died. How can this happen?
We are fortunate, but not helpless. Those of us who can afford, will donate to these tragedies. Others of us can pray the rosary and ask our Mother in heaven to intercede for those who are dying, starving, being maimed, and losing their homes.
We are being challenged, more than ever, to pray the rosary. Together as an army. Not once in a while, every day! We are being asked to pray now as warriors for God’s people.
We may not be able in our busy lives to kneel each morning and say a rosary; however, we can pray in our car on the way to work, or we can pray before we fall asleep at night. We can pray as we fold the laundry or while making dinner. God gives us all the opportunity to pray.
It occurs to me that the world is not getting better, nation against nation, conflicts are not being resolved. Economically, the poor are becoming poorer. Many feel that if it does not affect us, it is not of our concern because we are one person and cannot change it. We have no power by ourselves.
But we are not alone! Together in prayer, we can call upon our Jesus of Mercy! He, and only He, can turn this devastation around through our prayer, our rosaries to His blessed mother, who will intercede for us.
The challenge is in front of each of us. God is waiting to see our caring and mercy for the unfortunate who have suffered, and are still suffering from war, famine, fires, and more!
Together, you and I can do this! Let's begin today to beg for God’s mercy on His people, and to end war.
Amen!
