Date Ideas To Make Valentine’s Day Holy
Summer will soon be upon us. Many will be using PTO to visit the city on their “to visit” list or random beach day, students and teachers will be on vacation from school for two in a half months, and families will be looking to make the trek to the beach or the mountains.
Many readers will use the anticipated time on the beach to catch up on reading while soaking in some Vitamin Sea and D (see what I did there?).
With summer approaching, here are ten books to consider reading.

In his nonfiction debut, Jack Carr, author of the popular James Reece series, goes into depth on the events that led up to the bombing of Beirut in October 1983 and how it ignited the war on terrorism.
Sister, Soldier, Surgeon
Sophia Press has released a timely biography of Sister Deidre Byrne. Sister Byrne’s biography teaches us how to live out virtue with action. She shares how she build a culture of life through her vocation.

Fiction
All Ye That Pass By
As one reviewer best summarizes the book, Avellina Balestri has crafted “a story that’s not just about war but about impossible choices and the human heart caught in the crossfire…If you’re looking for a story that will make you think, feel, and stay up late flipping pages, this is it.”
Markmaker
This imaginative and immersive novel is a page-turner. Mariikel Serix goes into political and ancient depths, but will he survive?
Brave Water
Join Talitha and Moses on their journey, one marked with violent drug lords, crippling jealousy, blinding anger, but also…tremendous beauty. And the flutters of first love.
The Scars of Aimee Haynes
A disabled veteran must confront her path. She relies on a band of brothers, her husband, and even faith to help her heal from the wounds of her path while mourning the loss of an officer who was there for her from her most challenging times.
The Power and the Glory
Celebrating its 85th anniversary, the novel tells the story of a flawed "whiskey priest" navigating the Mexican state of Tabasco during a period of religious persecution by the government.
The novel explores themes of faith, corruption, and redemption as the priest, known only as "the whiskey priest," struggles with his own personal failings while trying to serve his people.
These books can be bought wherever books are sold. Consider supporting authors directly when possible.
