The ring around the Moon

     I sit outside in the mornings, listening to the sweet birds singing, and the Peace of that sweet morning, weather permitting, I look around. Lately, I have been seeing the moon with a glowing ring around it. The definition of this great phenomenon means that moonlight is passing through ice crystals in clouds that are reaching High into the Heavens. It is a beautiful display of light bending. Bending through ice crystals. I smile at my thought of projecting it as the light of Heaven. Of the world that lies above and beyond, so illustrious, so magnificent, that a little of that glowing light can not help but peek through. In all actuality, the ice crystals act like tiny prisms bending the moonlight as it passes through them. It is called a"Lunar Halo". A Halo. How Great is Our God? So great, that He has thought of everything! Praise God for my eyes and bless those who cannot see. We must be grateful for every single gift God has granted us, and this is just one of them. Taking time to notice so many good things. The world plumments us into darkness so many times with the pictures of war and division. We must turn our gaze and hopes to the wonders God sets before us. There is not Doom but Salvation. This world, as all things, passes away. But He does not. We can find the Glory of this world not in material things, but in the sights of a joyful heart, that allows the birds to sing loudly. The breeze to move gently. The moon to shine brightly. Our Lady sits on Her Throne along with the Holy Triune. Our eyes cannot behold such brightness, so a glimpse peeks through. Giving us Hope. Giving us Peace. Lighting our path towards the "Ring around the Moon". 

     Illuminate our hearts oh God! Lead us to Heaven along the Milky Way of the stars, where we will never be in darkness, but sit "inside" the "Ring around the Moon".
