I usually don't like disconnected Bible verses when I write these, but, for simplicity sake, we're going to start with John 11:-13-14 (and I'm using the King James Version because I live in the deep south), “Howbeit Jesus spake of his death but they thought that he was spoken of his death (see v.11-12): but they thought he had spoken of taken rest in sleep. Then Jesus said unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead”.
But, what I want to go on to is this verse in particular, “Jesus wept”. (John 8:35).
Now, why? Because, here's the thing, when you deal with these unitarian groups, you do A LOT of pointing to Jesus's miracles to verify his divinity Yes, Mark portrays Jesus as God), I think we actually do not think about defending his humanity.
Jesus felt emotions, human emotions. Remember, Jesus is true man and true God,One Iota of Difference.
Remember, Jesus was like us in all things but sin (Hebrews 4:15)
So, why do I bring this up?
Because, I think we trinitarians have a habit of thinking Jesus is far from us.
He isn't. He hurt. When he was on the cross, you were on his mind.
I was thinking about this, because, about a month ago, a friend of mine had lost her friend.
I didn't know her friend, but, I hurt when my friends hurt.
Don't think Jesus doesn't know what you're feeling. He so does.
