Living In The Present
The Body is designed to become a Temple for the Lord
Eileen Renders
As a Temple of the Lord, God is in us, and we are in Him. John 14- 20 Jesus said, “I AM in you as you are in Me.” This statement verifies the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This is the concept of three persons in One God. How do we, God’s creatures, become a Temple for the Lord, including what may develop from that union, I will attempt to explain and share here as best as I can.
To begin, let us ask ourselves, how can we become a Temple for the Lord? God has provided the sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion to keep us free from sin, and in the state of grace, and we need to remain in the state of grace to become a Temple for the Lord. Moreover, we must have a deep, sincere love for Christ and show it through rosaries, prayer, or meditation. Sometimes, we may just sit and have a meaningful conversation with God, although He may not answer us audibly or immediately. However, when we are tuned in to Him as our priority, we will begin to “feel” His presence within us.
We will feel that He is in us as we are in Him. We begin to see and feel His love as it is reciprocal. His love, and feeling His love shining outward through our body, raises us higher, and into a more perfect, precious state of love. We have nothing more to ask of God, only to remain in the state of comfort and joy, and the feeling of His divine presence within us. His presence shines outward, dissipating the darkness that aimlessly roams the world seeking the ruination of souls. Souls that many, through the Light that shines outwardly from us because God dwells within, can bring many souls back to Christ to be saved.
In the Catholic bible, Jesus said, “Wear the world as a loose garment.” Hebrews 1:11 States that the world will wear out like an old garment, but your spiritual life will determine where the spirit will be housed. No one can ever outdo through any good effort, how God returns His love and kindness.
Through my own longevity and spiritual growth, I have remained in the state of grace for much longer periods, including my focus on God. I do not go a day without speaking to Him about my troubles, weaknesses, and need to always feel His presence. More and more, I now feel His presence. He never leaves us, it is we who shy away from Him when we have sinned.
